Mokugift Rewards FAQBasic Questions 1. Why is mokugift a good incentive? Planting a tree to mitigate deforestation and absorb greenhouse gas emissions is an altruistic action that can influence consumer behavior. Indeed, according to research by Performics, 83% of American would choose products and services with environmental benefits over similar non-environmental alternatives. More than just a Web site for planting/"gifting" trees, mokugift offers an inspirational experience, with visual and interactive elements that make receiving a mokugift tree fun, uplifting and memorable. Businesses and nonprofits can leverage this technology to reward and motivate customers, donors or employees. As an eco-reward, mokugift is a great way to motivate up-sells and tap into growing environmental awareness and interest in sustainable lifestyles. 2. How does this work? When a constituent or customer takes the desired action, you notify mokugift to send a tree to the customer's email address. The notification can be done automatically or manually. Mokugift then notifies your customer via email that a real tree has been planted. The customer clicks on an email link to watch a tree-planting animation. After the animation, the customer is sent to your eco-page. In addition to displaying the total number of trees planted by your organization, this page can promote other campaigns you are running in association with mokugift and provide information about environmental initiatives, such as recycling and packaging reduction. 3. How much work does this take to get started? We can have you up and running in as little as 15 minutes. Simply write a few lines of campaign text and buy trees for the campaign. You can then send trees to customers manually by logging into our system and pasting in the email addresses of recipients. Alternatively, customers can automatically receive trees when they perform the actions you are trying to motivate. Your technical team can probably set this up in one day by connecting to our simple API (Application Programming Interface). We can provide technical assistance to help customize the campaign and integrate it with your organization's Web-based eco-initiatives. 4. How much do trees cost? Trees are priced at $1 apiece. 5. No. Mokugift exists in a category called social entrepreneurship. We measure our success in terms of customer experience, profit AND tangible, positive benefit to society and the environment. We work closely with nonprofits that specialize in assisting indigenous communities in tropical zones with tree planting and sustainable land-use practices. These nonprofits are experts at what they do, and fully support our efforts. Regarding our economic model, mokugift is not unlike any other consumer service that uses a portion of revenues to continually enhance the experience of using the service as well as the value it provides. When a customer purchases a mokugift tree for $1, a portion of that money goes to fund mokugift's operating costs and expansion. The portion that's sent to our tree-planting partners is enough to cover the cost of planting and caring for one tree.
